Hand it over to me : 그거 나한테 넘겨

 

안녕하세용 여러분 "그거 나한테 넘겨!" 를 원어민들이 뭐라고 하는지 알고있나요? 대부분의 한국인들은 "Give it to me" 라고 한다고 합니다. (저도 그랬어요...) 

하지만 원어민들은 이렇게 말합니다. "Hand it over to me" 

이 표현은 뭔가를 건네주거나 일을 맡길때에도 쓰이는 표현입니다.

아래는 표현들의 예시입니다.

Hand over the files. (파일을 넘겨주세요.)

Please hand over any documents you have that can help with our report. (우리 리포트에 도움이 될 수 있는 서류는 모두 넘겨주세요.)

The prime minister handed over his power to his opponent. (총리는 그의 적수에게 권력을 넘겨주었다.)

The CEO needs to hand over the company to someone else. (그 CEO는 회사를 다른 누군가에게 넘겨줘야해.)

The man handed over his car keys to his wife. (그 남자는 자신의 아내에게 자동차 키를 넘겨주었다.)

다음은 내가 틀렸던 부분이다.

I admire who work well.  → "나는 일 잘하는 사람을 존경해." 라는 의미에서 한 말이었는데, 일 잘하는 사람이라는건 일을 잘하는 모든 사람(2명 이상)을 지칭하는 것이므로 those를 써야한다.
그래서 I admire those who work well. 라고 표현하면 된다.

I see a woman who embarrassed. → I see a woman who is embarrassed.

most of work suddenly. → most of the tasks they hand over to me happen suddenly.

at weekend is only for rest. → the weekend is for rest / taking a rest.

good at communication other country. → is good at communicating with other countries.

consider our country's people → is considerate of our country's people.

In that situation, I have a brave suddenly → when I am in that situation, I am brave/I have courage/courageous.

※ 마지막으로 내가 질문했던 것은, 배운 표현은 Hand + A + over 인데, 예문에서는 "Hand over the files"와 같이 목적어가 over 뒤에 나오는 경우가 있었다. 그래서 그렇게 사용해도 되는거냐고 물었더니, 
그렇게 사용하는건 문법적으로 완벽하진않지만.. 현지에서 그렇게 쓰는 경우가 많다고 한다. 우리나라 사람들도 "나한테 가져와 그거" 랑 "나한테 그거 가져와" 랑 의미는 통하므로... 근데 원칙적으로는 "Hand the files over"이라고 하는게 옳다고한다.
