day off : 쉬는 날

 

오늘 배운 표현은 "day off" 라는 표현이다. 

It's my day off. (나 오늘 쉬는 날이야)

It's a day off of work. (회사 쉬는 날이야)

I will take a half day off of work. (나 반차 쓸거야)

I can't wait for my day off tommorrow. (내일 휴가가 아주 기대돼)

Can I take a day off tomorrow? (내일 하루 휴가 좀 내도 될까요?)

I should take a half day off today. (나 오늘 반차 내야 해)
I need to take a half day off today.
I have to take a half day off today.

Today, It's her day off. (그녀는 오늘 휴가입니다)
Today is her day off.
It's her day off today.

 

아래는 내가 틀린 표현들이다.

It takes two hours to get there train → It takes two hours to get there by train.

I usually listening to music and watch YouTude videos. → I usually listen to music and watch YouTube videos.

I usually take a day off when I go trip. → I usually take a day off when I go on a trip.     

I use Post-its to memory my superior's order. → I use Post-its to memorize my superior's order.      
                                                                                                 I use Post-its to help me remember my boss's instructions.         

I watched almost all episode. → I watched almost all episodes.

I usually read books relate my work. →I usually read books related to my work.
                                                                             I frequently read books that are relevant to my work.

항상 수업이 끝난 후, 질문이 있냐고 물어보시는데 지금까지는 계속 No.. I have no questions.... 라고 개미 기어가는듯 말하다가 처음으로 궁금한점이 생겨서 버벅버벅 질문을 했다. 

내가 궁금했던 점은 day off가 휴일의 개념으로 쓰이는데, 특정 장소(백화점, 놀이동산 등)의 휴무일을 표현할 때에도 쓰일 수 있는가였다.

Can I say "It's a day off of departmentstore" using the expressions I learned today? 라고 질문했다.

돌아오는 답변은 이 표현은 대게 사람에 관해서 쓰인다는 것이였는데,
'백화점이 휴무일이다' 라는 표현을 쓰고싶다면 The department store is closed because of the holiday. 라고 사용하면된다고 했다.

그래도 질문하길 다행이라고 생각한게, 물어보지 않았다면 배운 표현을 응용해서 사용했다고 뿌듯하게 생각할뻔했다ㅋㅋㅋ.... 어디가서 잘못된 표현을 사용할 뻔했다는거..

다음부터는 궁금한점이 있다면 천천히 침착하게 물어보고 궁금증을 해소해야겠다. 그리고 한가지 나아진 점이 있다면 저번 수업때는 내가 틀린 문법을 말하는게 두려워서 입을 다물었는데, 이제는 그냥 막 뱉고나서 틀린걸 고쳐주길 바란다ㅋㅋㅋ 자신감이 1++ 된거같다..!

특정한 것을 가리킬 때는 the를 사용한다.
불필요한 단어 사용을 지양한다. (이 단어 없이도 의사 전달이 충분히 될 수 있는지 생각해보기)
